Looking to process a tree view list in Thunderbird email

Post by thundergoesboom » Thu Jan 11, 2018 3:53 pm

Good Day

I'm looking to automate renaming 2200 email folders within the Thunderbird email client (There's a bug which looks to be fixable by renaming each folder to something else and then back again)

The steps I would like to use are as followed:

Initially select email folder name in tree list, then..
  • Press F2 (Rename child window opens up)
  • press End Key
  • Enter letter X
  • Press Enter (Rename child window closes)
  • Press F2 (Rename child window opens up)
  • press End Key
  • Press backspace key (to Delete the X)
  • Press Enter (Rename child window closes)
  • Press arrow down for next item in list
Repeat above steps for next item

There's a problem though

When Thunderbird closes the rename window, it jumps to the top of the visible list in the tree view which loses the correct position within the list

I've been looking for a way to save off the position in the tree view list, so I can re-select the correct position; but haven't had any luck

Any idea if this is Possible in Macro Toolworks?

If not.. Any other thoughts on how to get around this?

Paul
